Swift Student Challenge 2027

Before You Apply

Please read the following before you register. Estimated time to read: 3–4 minutes.

What is the Swift Student Challenge?

The Swift Student Challenge is Apple's global opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, ideas, and development skills by building an interactive app playground using Swift and Apple's development technologies.

It is more than just writing code — it is about taking an idea, experience, interest, or something meaningful to you and turning it into an interactive experience.

Through the Swift Coding Club at Parul University, we want to bring together students who are already familiar with Swift and/or the Apple development ecosystem and help them take their skills to the next level.

Who Should Apply!!

This registration is not intended as a beginner-only coding program.

We are specifically looking for students who already have some familiarity with:

  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • Xcode
  • Swift Playgrounds
  • iOS / iPadOS development
  • Apple frameworks and APIs
  • The wider Apple Developer ecosystem

You don't need to be an expert. However, you should have some genuine exposure to Swift or Apple development and be interested in building something of your own.

If you have never explored Swift or Apple development before, this may not be the right registration for you.

What will the Swift Coding Club provide?

  • Access to available Mac / iPad lab resources for students who need them
  • Learning resources for Swift, SwiftUI, Xcode and Apple development
  • Sessions focused on app ideas, development and experimentation
  • Guidance while you build and improve your project
  • Exposure to the Apple Developer ecosystem
  • A community of students interested in building with Apple technologies
  • Support throughout the preparation journey for the Swift Student Challenge

The goal is not simply to teach you how to code. The goal is to help you take what you already know and turn it into something you can actually build and be proud of.

What commitment should you expect?

If selected, you should be prepared to consistently work on your skills and project during the preparation period.

You should be able to dedicate regular time each week, especially as we move closer to the submission period.

This is a student-led journey — your final project will require your own effort, creativity, and consistency.

Do you need a Mac or iPad?

Regular access to a Mac or iPad is strongly recommended for Apple development.

If you do not have your own device, limited university lab access may be available through the Swift Coding Club, depending on availability and scheduling.

Important

Before applying, please understand:

  • Your final Swift Student Challenge submission must be your own individual work.
  • You should have some existing familiarity with Swift and/or Apple's development ecosystem.
  • You should be willing to learn, experiment, and build independently.
  • Your submission should follow Apple's official eligibility and submission requirements.
  • Apple's official dates and requirements for the 2027 Swift Student Challenge will be followed once announced.

Official Apple Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Swift Student Challenge, applicants in India and worldwide must meet Apple's official student eligibility criteria:

  • Age Requirement: Be 13 years of age or older in India (or the equivalent legal age in your jurisdiction).
  • Enrollment: Be enrolled in an accredited academic institution (such as Parul University, PIET, PIT, or equivalent college/university), or have graduated within the last 6 months.
  • Developer Account: Register for free as an Apple Developer with your Apple Account.
